Alexandra began her dance career in Bakersfield, California. At the age of 4 she started dance and musical theater training at Linda Larma’s Academe of Dance. She continued her ballet training with Kathy Correa at Dancers’ Workshop, and there is where she found her love and passion for dance. In 2008, she moved to Texas and trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, tap, contemporary and lyrical at Performing Arts Studio in Georgetown. During her time at Performing Arts Studio, she found the inspiration to share her love for dance with others and became a teaching assistant for Ms. Lisa Shoup-Rathbone and Mrs. Diane Anderson. Since starting her career in Texas, she has participated in numerous conventions, productions and competed in many dance competitions and showcases. She is an active member of the Southwestern University Pom Squad as well as the Georgetown Ballet Company. Alexandra looks forward to serving as Co- Captain of the Southwestern University Pom Squad for the 2017-2018 season, and as a company member of the Georgetown Ballet. She is a major in Psychology and Kinesiology with a dance application minor with plans to incorporate dance technique and movement in therapy. With 16 years of dance experience, she has come to appreciate the discipline, commitment, and determination that dance requires, and at the same time, embracing each child’s individuality. She is eager to inspire young dancers to pursue their dreams and careers, and further share their love with the world. Her specialties are in ballet, tap, team and show jazz, contemporary and lyrical. Alexandra is honored and thrilled to join the Arts Avenue family and share her experience and knowledge with your dancers!
