Rogers and Hammerstein “Cinderella

This fall we are excited to be producing Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.”  This sweeping tale is full of struggles, triumphs, and Cinderella’s innocent faith in a miracle which allows her wish to go to the ball to come true.  This musical contains beautiful songs such as In My Own Little Corner, Do I Love You, Impossible, and many more.

Class Times: Mondays 6:00-8:00pm.  The first class will be on August 26th and will go through until the performances in January.  There will be no class on Labor Day or on the week of Thanksgiving.  There will also be some Saturday rehearsals for some of the students.  Students will be given a detailed rehearsal and performance schedule once classes begin.

At the beginning of August registered students will receive detailed information on auditions which will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 9:30am-12:30pm at the studio.  Everyone registered in the class is in the show – these auditions are just for parts.  Performances will be January 10th-12th at Southwestern University with full run-throughs and technical rehearsals on January 4th through 9th.

TUITION and FEES:  Tuition for “Cinderella” is $85 per month (September through January).  Arts Avenue does not charge a production or costume fee for this class and we provide all costumes, props, and sets.  However, due to the cost of putting on a large-scale production in this venue, we do encourage each of our students to help us raise funds by selling ads for the program and volunteering at other fundraisers that we do.  Students will receive detailed information on our fund-raising projects after classes begin.

8th Graders: 8th graders who are enrolled in our “Frozen, Jr.” production class are eligible to be in the Chorus of “Cinderella”.  They will NOT need to be at auditions and will NOT need to be at every rehearsal.  They will be sent a detailed rehearsal and performance schedule so that they will know when they need to be there.   There is no additional monthly tuition fee, but there is a $125 production fee for the 8th graders, due by the first week of class (August 26th).
