Senior Production

Beauty and the Beast

This spring we are excited to be producing the full Broadway musical of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!  The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

SCHEDULE

Class Times: Mondays 5:45-9:30 pm.  (Students will be broken up into 1 hour and 15 minute slots during this time due to our current Covid-19 capacity limits).  The first class will be on January 11th and will go through until the performance in June.  There will be no class on March 15th due to Spring Break.  There will also be several Saturday rehearsals from 10:45am-12:00pm for many of the students.  Students will be given a detailed rehearsal and performance schedule once classes begin.

Auditions for parts will be held on Saturday, January 2nd Once a student is registered for the class, they will be sent an email with all of the audition information along with what they will need to have prepared.  The email will also include a link to sign up for an audition time slot.  Students will audition in groups of 12 to help us keep in line with the current allowed capacity percentage in the room.

Performances will be June 4th, 5th, and 6th at Southwestern University.  Of course, we will remain flexible depending on what the status of Covid-19 is at the time.

TUITION and FEES:  Tuition for Beauty and the Beast is $100 per month (January through May).  Arts Avenue does not charge a production or costume fee for this class and we provide all costumes, props, and sets.
