You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Join us this fall as our junior production class (grades 6th-8th) produces the beloved story of the Peanuts gang in, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown“! This musical brings Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and other timeless characters to life onstage.
Based on the Comic Strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship.
Class Time: Saturdays between 12:15-4:20 pm
*Due to Covid-19 we have decided to do things a little different this year with our Junior Production. In order to keep the number of people in the studio to a minimum and yet allow all of our students to be involved, we are going to have three separate casts. For rehearsals, each cast will rehearse on Saturdays. One cast will meet from 12:15-1:30pm, one will meet from 1:40-2:55 pm and one will meet from 3:05-4:20 pm. During the auditions for parts, students will be able to notify us if any of those time slots won’t work. They will also be able to tell us if they need to be in the same cast with someone in particular due to carpools, being a sibling, etc., and we will do our best to accommodate those requests.
Our director will be hosting an audition information session over Zoom on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 am to let the students know how auditions will be run and what they will need to have prepared. Once a student is registered they will be sent a link to the Zoom meeting.
Auditions will be held in the studio on Saturday, August 29th. Once a student is registered, they will receive an email with a link to a Sign-Up Genius. There, students will need to choose one of the audition times. Those times will be 9:30-10:30 am, 10:45-11:45 am, and 12:00-1:00 pm and will be in groups of thirteen students. Students will be notified by Sunday night which part they will be and which cast they will be in.
The performances will be recorded on February 20th and we will stream them online on February 27th and 28th. This will be new for all of us so we appreciate your willingness to try new things and for being flexible! We will have a lot more information on this aspect as we go along.
TUITION and FEES: Tuition for this production is $70 per month (September through February). There are no additional production or costume fees. Arts Avenue provides all costumes, props, and sets (although we love it when parents help us out finding or making everything on our work days)!
